BRIEF HIATUS

I'll be out of town for a few days, so "The Counteproint" will be on a very brief break. We'll be back next week with responses to any "Points" particularly deserving of being countered, and resume our daily responses. In the meantime, be sure to visit our friends at SinclairAction for ongoing scrutiny of all things Sinclair.

Look for a new "Counterpoint" on Tuesday!

I'm new to blogs and recently reconnected with both internet and activism. I am a member of Alternet, and found this blog via links from them.

I went to The Point and answered a survey question about whether a person with a drug-resistant form of AIDS who had slept with 100 people should be charged with attempted murder. I answered NO, and the results came up as overwhelmingly YES.

I am a 54-year-old divorced heterosexual female, and I was appalled at this result! I wonder if the results would come up YES if the person had only slept with one person? It's bad enough to put people in jail for mental illnesses such as drug addiction. Now it becomes a felony to have a physical illness as well?

What's going on out there?
